Bio
I'm Amanda Cavanaugh, a lifelong lover of science fiction and fantasy.
I earned my Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington. I'm a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, the Northwest Editors Guild, and the Professional Editors Network.

Line Editing
Line editing focuses on changes made at the sentence level, including word choice and phrasing.
If you feel that your manuscript lacks "flow" or doesn't "sound right", line editing may be for you.
Copy Editing
Proofreading
Copy editing focuses on applying a consistent style to a manuscript. It's the step in editing that looks at issues of capitalization, spelling, and punctuation.
If you have had someone look at your plot, character arcs, and pacing, and feel confident that your manuscript is almost ready for publication, copy editing may be for you.
Proofreading is the final step before a manuscript's publication. The editor scours the manuscript for errors and typos that have been missed in prior editing stages and marks them for correction.
